Or you need to slowly bring up voltage on an old radio to avoid blowing capacitors. This Miumaeov variac is the tool you need. It’s a variable transformer — you plug it into a standard 110V US outlet, and it outputs anywhere from 0 to 130V AC. Turn the dial, and the voltage changes continuously. No stepped settings, no guessing. The rating is 2000VA (20 amps). That’s enough for most bench equipment, power tools, heaters, or lamps. The all-copper coil and iron shell mean it runs cool and quiet. The through-body thermal grid vents heat, so it doesn‘t overheat during long test sessions. Safety features include overcurrent, thermal, overvoltage, short-circuit protection, plus a grounding port. It comes with six spare fuses — you won’t be hunting for replacements when one blows. Use it for: bringing up old tube radios safely, controlling motor speed (it‘s an excellent AC motor speed controller), dimming stage lights, testing power supplies, or conditioning voltage for sensitive lab gear. The output is AC, not DC — so for DC motors, you’d need a rectifier downstream. Honest notes: this is a variac, not an isolation transformer. Your circuit is still referenced to the line. For safety when working on live equipment, use an isolation transformer in addition to this variac. Also, assembly required (mount the dial/knob — simple). Available only in red. Please check the regulator regularly with a carbon brush and ensure that the brush and contact parts do not exceed the width of two wires. 4. Please check the insulation resistance regularly. The insulation resistance between the coil and the base should not be less than 0.08inch. 5. Before powering on, connect the ground wire to the regulator housing and point the handwheel to zero. 6. The lower the output voltage regulation, the smaller the output power and the smaller the load power. 7. After the power cord is plugged in, do not touch the metal connector and heating wire. 8. Please unplug the power plug before the replaced electric wire touches the metal connector. 9. Products with electrical plugs are designed for use in the US.
