QFX TV Antennas Editorial Review
The XMAS antenna has garnered mixed reviews from customers. On the positive side, many customers have praised the antenna for its strong reception and ability to pick up weak stations. One customer even reported receiving 70 channels in just 5 minutes of setup. The antenna also performs well in strong winds, according to another customer. However, the main drawback of this product is the challenging assembly process. Several customers complained about the vague and confusing instructions, with one customer stating that it took them approximately 1 1/2 hours to assemble the antenna. The thin aluminum rods proved to be easily bent, requiring occasional straightening to insert them properly. Additionally, the attachment to a pole was deemed flimsy by some customers, prompting them to use a different, homemade clamp. Other minor issues include a too bright and distracting "on" light on the power unit and the fact that the 50' coaxial cable is permanently attached, rendering it useless for those who already have existing cable. Furthermore, one customer reported a non-functional remote, but found it inconvenient that the entire antenna had to be returned for a replacement. Overall, the XMAS antenna is praised for its performance and reasonable price, but the assembly process and instructions leave much to be desired.
