POR-15 Top Coat Paint, Direct to Metal Paint, Long-term Sheen and Color Retention, 128 Fluid Ounces, Gloss Black
If you're looking for a protective coating that is easy to apply, POR-15 Top Coat may be what you need. It has excellent coverage and durability. The paint is very shiny and thick, so it provides a great finish for your project. After 2-6 hours of the POR 15 base coat being dry to the touch, you can apply the Top Coat on top. Be sure to sand the surface if it's cured, or has had a painted surface before. However, you'll need to be careful with it, as it doesn't sand and buff well for the entire truck, and also can see brush marks on mag wheels. In addition, it is not recommended for high heat applications, such as an engine block, as the color may change. If you are using it on a boat, it is not recommended for below the waterline, although it will work for a couple of inches above the waterline. Also, the base coat is not UV resistant and will require a topcoat to provide UV protection on exposed surfaces. In general, this product has received positive reviews from customers regarding its protection and durability. The exception being that the cans were all solid hard with approximately 1/4 of the can that needed to be used and taken care of before being able to use the product itself. The product is excellent for projects like fences, home baseboard radiator covers, open car trailers, and many more.
